All of these things have happened to me this morning, what's the story with the board,is it happening to anyone else?

You're not alone Irish - the board also cut out on me for a little while.

I'm just signing in for the first time today. So far so good. I'll let you know if I get discon

I'm likely tempting the wrath of the internet with this post.

Well that time lasted about 40 minutes.

I haven't been online since 8:30 or so - I did have trouble getting it to load
fifteen minutes ago though. Thanks for your patience - if service continues
to suck I'll call support and see what's up.

lol...my main concern is that I'm the only one that goes to ezboard to see if anyone else is there, so I always think it is only me

Boy that place is bad now!

I try not to go on the ezboard one too much - I get weird firewall messages
at the old board.

Cooby it's not just you, my service on CPF has been interrmittent today.

Yeah, I had to do a google search to find the ezboard one! It's like a popup blitz

Called support ... they acknowledged speed and loading problems system-
wide and he said that while there may be some issues they should be over
by now, and if not, shortly.

I gotta say, the support line the few times I've had to call has been great. No
waiting on hold fifteen minutes, straight answers, pleasant and always thank-
ful for the business. Yay support.

It's better to be pissed off than to be pissed on.

Dear Kevin,

You may have experienced some service interruptions recently that
impacted your Web site or e-mail. We want to apologize for any
issues you may have encountered and explain why they occurred.

As you might imagine, we frequently add new hardware and security
layers to our hosting infrastructure. We do this primarily to
accommodate our customers' growing traffic and bandwidth usage
and to further secure our customers' Web sites and e-mail.

During the last couple of weeks, we upgraded our firewalls and
added new storage devices to our e-mail platform. The
interruptions that you may have experienced were a direct
result of the implementation of this equipment.

Although we rigorously tested the new hardware, the change did
impact some customers when it was implemented on our production
platform.

We understand there is NO EXCUSE for unscheduled service
interruptions and realize that you depend on us to provide
reliable Web hosting and e-mail solutions. Our entire team takes
that responsibility very seriously. We will, as we always do,
review what happened over the past two weeks and use that
information to improve the services we deliver to you.

Again, we appreciate your support of eHost and
apologize for any issues you may have experienced. If you have
any questions or concerns, please let us know. Call us toll free
at XXX.XXX.XXXX, e-mail us at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX or chat
with us online: http://XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Sincerely,

Gary Engel
Vice President, Support
eHost

It was sweet of him to send all those kisses at the end.

The only "technical" gliches I get on a semi-regular basis here are:

- Occasionally when I reply to a thread, instead of being taken back to the thread and my reply, I'll be taken to an all-white screen with only a few lines of computer-ese gibberish up top. The system will then sometimes go on back to the thread a few seconds later but sometimes will not (although it always takes the reply no matter which happens). If not I just re-click onto the CPF and I'm back on the main page.

- The orange "new threads" indicators almost always disappear at some point while I'm catching up on what I've missed; both the ones indicating which threads have new replies and the ones showing which fora have had new action since my last visit. I've yet to figure out any rhyme or reason as to when & why this disapperance is triggered.
It's not really critical ... just slightly annoying.

That's my biggest peeve here. Like FK said, it's not critical. But it can be really annoying, especially if you're catching up after being out all day.

I guess I've ignored some of the little things mostly because I don't see
an easy resolution to them. This board is very popular and has a lot of
web space devoted to the software if someone wants to search for an-
swers to things. A good place to start would be here.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell youse. We've created a more
than stable enviornment to conduct our business, I back up the data-
base twice a day so hopefully we'll never lose it again, and that's all the
energy I can spend on the joint at the present time.

Thank you for that, Bro. We really do appreciate that.

We also appreciate the fact that we have been provided this cyberhome without having to ante in. If you ever do want to pass the hat, please don't hesitate to ask - it's only fair.

Does anyone want to check out that link and see whether there are any cures for the glitches we sometimes get?

This web-space has existed for about a half-dozen years. It so happens we
needed a new home and the web-space comes with a free board. Charging
people to hang out would be like me calling you up and asking you out for
a cup of coffee or a beer to talk about the Mets and then hitting you up for
five bucks for the company.

If something needs to be fixed and someone has the energy to post com-
plaints about it - that energy would be better used looking for a solution.

Actually, those are pretty good words to live by in everyday situations.

ScarletKnight41
Jan 21 2006 12:34 PM

Well, I'd be willing to throw in five bucks for the company any time. Or an overpriced beer at Shea - whichever you prefer.

KC
Jan 21 2006 12:47 PM

Well, I think you're entirely missing the point ... but if I keep whining I'll
start to sound like a weanie, so I'm done.

ScarletKnight41
Jan 21 2006 12:50 PM

I was intentionally missing the point. But you still get a beer from me.

Thanks, bud.
