Because tomorrow is another day. Another day without baseball.

The lineup of the future, here today!

I like the lineup also...

Chris Young appears to have reinjured his quad... I like this signing even less now...

Plenty of OF's in the system to find out about...

Frayed Knot Apr 02 2014 06:25 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
Colon was getting away with far too many loud outs early on to think that it wasn't going to come back and bite him sooner or later.
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Apr 02 2014 06:26 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
More gopher in this inning-- like FK said, even the outs are billowy-- than the Caddyshack denouement.
|
d'Kong76 Apr 02 2014 06:44 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
Watching Colon bunting was rather comical.
|
Fman99 Apr 02 2014 06:50 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
Colon served up a meatball there to give up the leadoff single. I'm surprised he's willing to share the meatballs with another person.

So did the new rules influence Tejada on that non play at the plate? and keith is correct, no wheels.
|
Frayed Knot Apr 02 2014 06:59 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |

They shouldn't have. You're still allowed to hit the catcher if he's in the line and has the ball; you just can't go out of your way to hit him if he doesn't.
Ruben does lack in the wheels department.

Looks like the Mets are already in mid-season Citi Field form, as far as actual fans in attendance are concerned. Which is to say, nobody's at the game.

Comically counterproductive and a big reason he's likely to be the losing pitcher tonight.

Edgy MD Apr 02 2014 07:06 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
That's a 10-pitch strikeout for Grandy. #progress!

Only the pitching, hitting, and defense.

Yeah, game two has always been a huge gate draw.

Fans love cold weekday nights after the thrill of opening day has worn off? I've been to so many cold April and May cold night games I have no interest in putting myself through it any more. I'd happily be cold in Oct and early Nov if need be with bells on.

I'd say that the odds are better than 50-50 that the Mets won't be drawing much better on a Wednesday night in August.

This team is kinda tough to watch, man. He didn't get to that one in the gap, but watching Lagares track a ball is pretty goddamn joyful anyway. You know if it's gettable, he'll get it, same as when Cameron roamed. Wright, love him. d'Arnaud, hopeful. What else... um.... /drinks beer

We have a very whiffy team.

Yeah, 16 or so K's in two games.

Pitcher friendly Citi is no pal of Barts. Phulewwy game. Just seeing Lags come into his own and hopefully evolve as a hitter, that could be enough to keep me happy for a while. Course I want them to win more than they lose and already it's an uphill climb.

John Cougar Lunchbucket Apr 02 2014 08:13 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
Not to say it again but if Colon gets that bunt down it changes everything.

I missed a chunk of the game including that. I'll have to check it out. Very pedestrian outing for Bo Fat. No run support.

Is it possible to have a white Jason Bay AND a black Jason Bay?

Well, we were the first team to have black & white bobblehead dolls.
|
Edgy MD Apr 02 2014 08:45 PM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
Had a black Chris Young and a white Chris Young. Black Bobby Jones and white Bobby Jones.

If he could have dropped his shoulder and made contact, something that I thought was no longer allowed (Gary today says it is okay to do that), then it changes nothing. Is this rule for the handful of jerkoffs in MLB who would chase a catcher up the line just to clobber him? And before the rule wouldn't he still have gotten tossed for that?
|
Frayed Knot Apr 03 2014 11:44 AM Re: IGT 4/2: Washington @ Mets |
The only thing the new rule says is that:
