GUARANTEED VICTORY IGT 4/3/14

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 03 2014 05:06 AM

I GUARANTEE a victory today or will not start the next game thread.

If you were looking for reasons to be optimistic, consider:
--Strugglers like Grandy and [crossout:1uufy32u]Davis[/crossout:1uufy32u] Doodoo vs. RHP
-- Wheeler has ability and isn't hurt yet
-- Tejada & Duda's last games as Mets prior to Big First Week Blockbuster Trade
-- Return of Muffy
-- Fans have zero CAHNfidence and therefore don't expect it

Day Game.

In other news, I am NOT at this game, which is good, because since the advent of MLB At The Ballpark statistics I've never seen the Nats lose in 9 tries now.

And they don't come back until the second week of august and the second week of September (which I'm definitely not attending) and won't be in Washington when I drive by for a baptism.

Grandyman RF
Doodoo 1B
Lagares CF
dArnaud C

Young on DL is official.

the baptism is actually in Virginia near Langley (my wife's goddaughter's father is/was in the coast guard) and obviously I looked up the home schedules for the Nats and Orioles (and the Tide) that weekend.

Yup. Wheeler can't get one down with two on, but Roark gets one down with two strikes and it leads to a run. Funny how that happens.
And then Duda not cutting off Granderson's throw allows Span to take 2nd and then he comes home on Werth's hit.

Like I said before: Good at scoring in the 1st, not good at just about everything else.

David Wright is still awesome.

Juan Lagares is looking like he might actually hit.

Zack Wheeler got through an inning against a strong lineup beyond his tiring point. Good to see.

Colon and Gee both pitched reasonably well.

Tejada so far looks like he's at least shaken some of the yips he had last year and is hitting the ball.

Granderson is a talented player and two+ doubles today bode well.

The bullpen has been pretty bad, but there are some talented arms in there and some of the other guys will be replaced by other talented arms (like Walters, deGrom) down the line. There legitimately IS potential there.

He's fine. made all the plays. seems at least capable on the DP. (he was never really a plus SS) I don't really have a problem with him not barreling into a bigger than he is catcher when he was out by 5 feet. The chances he scores there by doing so are less than 1%. Loboton was just positioned too well. 2 feet up the line with the ball already in his glove and waiting.
