Little Opening Day

Wally Backman's Vegans are hosting with Rafael Montero facing The Unknown Starter.

In the Eastern League, Pedro Lopez's B-Mets are sending Darin Gorski out to the mound to face that guy's younger brother The Mysterious Twirler.

The St. Lucie Mets know how that game is played, so manager Ryan Ellis has Yet to Be Determined going for him as his team hosts the Palm Beach Cardinals and their moundsmith Mike Mayers.

Finally, we head to the South Atlantic League, where Savannah manager Luis Rojas puts his hope behind Robert Gsellman, who did such solid work for the Cyclones last year. He'll be opposed by Lakewood BlueClaw and big league legacy Marc Leiter.

Now I'm off to see what's happening in that Jailhouse Beatdown thread.

Gsellman is great when he throws gstrikes.

Bingo pulls off a Metly performance, going up 1-0 in the first before ultimately going down big, 7-1. Unknown Starter was named Cody Anderson.

St. Lucie hung in there for a 6-5 win. Gabriel Ynoa started and won, tiring in the sixth. Brandon Nimmo opens the season 2-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored. T.J. Rivera, a middle infielder to this point in his career, started at first and hit like it, going 3-4 with a homer and 5(!) RBI.

Savannah in the bottom of the ninth losing 6-0, Mazzilli at the plate.

Las Vegas just getting under way.

Six scoreless for Rafael Montero [4 hits, 5 K, 0 BB] in a 9-2 LV win over Fresno
Also a scoreless (though 2 walk) 8th inning from Vic Black and a perfect 9th from Eric Goeddel

HRs from Nieuwenhuis (4-for-4) and Lutz (2-4, w/a GS 4 RBI) paced a 13-hit attack

When you have a 40-Man packed with AAAA players, it stands to reason they'd kick arse in AAA, right?

/Laughs, because there's enough rain in April without my crying
