Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.

Muffy with a solid single. Wright with a dribbler single (he's been getting many breaks with the cheap hits-gotta give him that). CYoung walks. 1 out.

CAMPBELL DRIVES IN TWO!!! He ripped that single.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

Lagares a line single to right plates another.
3-0 Mets.

Colon with a good 1-2-3 1st inning.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

WOW. Lagares robs Werth of a sure homer in dead center. Glove two feet over the wall. Amazin'.

Edited 1 time(s), most recently on May 17 2014 04:06 PM

Thats it for me. If Lagares isn't in center every day I want Shorty's head on a long stick.

5-2, runners on the corners for the Mets, up 5-2 in the 7th.
1 out.

I think we need more runs.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

They showed about 15 replays of that catch in the last ten minutes, and I could watch a few hundred more.

Chris Young flailing at off-plate offerings, I could stand to see a little less.

As soon as I see a pic I'll post it. Just an amazin' catch. Straight away-he cruised back, smooooth, smoother than Beltran.

I say rest EYjr tomorrow. CYoung in left and what Gary and Mex were saying, Lagares and Granderson.
No more Abreu in the outfield to start imo. He's a pro. He'll stay fresh for pinch hitting. Work Campbell in there more than Abreu.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

Good job Mejia.
Got the 'Cookie' save (3 run lead) for his first one as official closer dude, but, after the leadoff single, he never allowed the tying run to get to the plate which is a big deal when dealing w/the Nats who have potential HRs from just about everyone in their lineup.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

Keith is right. The catch itself wasn't the half of it. The fact that it was dead center (how often do you see pullback at 400 feet?), and the fact that the guy usually positions himself shallow really tell the whole story.

Yup!
Good jump, good route, good tracking, and then finally the athleticism kicks in at the end.

This Seth Everett guy is pretty much on point with what the story is but his delivery is sort of messy.

It seems we're getting back to that strange pattern where they find their footing on the road, get some momentum going, arrive home, and lay an egg.

Needs to work on his demonstrative finishing move. That point-wave-slap thing he did with his hand today was totally lame. Plus he took off his hat too long after.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

Maybe a hat-off, shampoo-commercial hair-wave as the Mejia finisher? Or maybe it's a happy glove-spike.

Re: I.G.T 5/17 Mets at Nats

Maybe he took some (internal) heat for his moon-walking act after the strikeout of Gardner last week then, following his save, got caught between wanting to celebrate and being conscious of trying to tone it down.
Maybe he should display all that hair by adopting the end-of-the-round tradition of golfers who always make a point of removing their hats prior to shaking hands with their partners.
