Soup Is Good Food

Eric Campbell up. No corresponding move announced, but it is believed to be an unhealthy time to be named Satin.

He doesn't always wear a beard, but when he does, he wears it well. Like a 7.9 on the Pagan Index.

If I'm other team's fans, I chant "pro-gress-o" when he's up

Eric Campbell -- DOB: 4/9/87 (27), Norwich Connecticut
Drafted 8th Round 2008* by the Mets out of Boston College
6' 3" / 205; R/R

In the minors has played, in order of frequency, 1B, 3B, LF, RF, 2B, SS (twice), and has even pitched (once).

Spent 2-1/2 seasons in AA Binghamton: 1,136 PAs; .271/.363/.400
and then another year-plus in AAA: 588 PAs; .326/.437/.490

* 2008 definitely turned out to be an interesting draft for these NY Mets
Campbell was drafted two rounds after the guy (we assume) he's replacing and 5 rounds after the last player to get sent down, Kirk Nieuwenhuis
This was also the year where they had the three picks in the top 33 (their own plus two for Glavine returning to Atlanta) all of which now are out of the picture with just Matt Thorton & PtbNL to show for it.
#18 over Ike Davis (traded); # 22 overall Reese Havens (retired this winter); #33 overall Brad Holt (pitching for the Long Island Ducks after apparently taking 2013 off)
Other 2008'ers include Collin McHugh (now enjoying a renaissance in Houston) 18th round, and Chris Schwinden - 22nd round

He looked good when we saw him in Spring Training.

There's something about the texture of that beard makes me want to rearrange it with a magnetic wand, or shake my screen to erase it.

He has a certain... Lutziness about him, does he not?
