Eric Young, Jr. – LF

Tonight the Braves have probably their best guy going after winning the first two in this series despite getting some pretty sucky outings from their starters that NYM bats weren't able to take advantage of (or not enough anyway).

Now since I don't care one way or the other what they do tonight, they will probably do something grand.

Zvon Jul 02 2014 05:11 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
So should I even watch?
|

That's what I do, when I can, since I can remember.

When they lose three in a row, I don't watch until they win again.

I saw that. A bases clearing double for Atlanta. I consider it a victory that Fkn Frdy Frmn didn't hit it. I know, he scored. My nemesis face^

This deGrom vs. Matsuzaka who will get demoted thing isn't going so well. Maybe it's Montero.
|
Zvon Jul 02 2014 06:21 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
This leaving early thing...it's by design? Or are they just misreading a pitchers move? It has happened so much. I don't think Young has to ever leave early to get the base. Nice steal though.

Gotta plate these two. Gotta.

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 06:23 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
I'll be disappointed not to get at least one... and there it is.
|
Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 06:27 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Pretty funny that we're trying to play out the week with no backup infielders.

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 06:56 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Justin is meat.

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:00 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Man, it'd be nice to start getting deGromeo some winzzz.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 07:01 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Do the Mets even have a 'strike fast' move in their bag?
|
Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:05 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
They do, and it's name is Eric Young Joonyah.

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:07 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
It's a limited tool.
|
Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:08 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
They also have a Laggy tool. Manufacturer apparently didn't design them to work in tandem.

I can laugh at anything but this is no longer funny. He left too early again, this time they clip his wings.
lol

One of us should have kept a running tally of base runners erased this year.

Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 07:17 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
That's two hard liners down the RF line this inning that were just foul.

Zvon Jul 02 2014 07:27 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
I like the manager running out there, having his showcase moment. But Gary has a point. It takes time.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 07:31 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
I just like how Gary (and many others) talk about the "unintended consequences" of replay rule. How did none of them see this coming?
|
Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:44 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
"Unintended" /= "Unanticipated"

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 07:50 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Laggy's glove is our best asset right now.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 07:52 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Young makes the first out ... saves him the trouble of running into one later.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 07:56 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Their infield has made 4 or 5 plays this series that ours couldn't and wouldn't make.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Jul 02 2014 07:59 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Tommy LaStella's performance this series outstrips even that one night he opened for Mountain at the Stone Pony.
|
Zvon Jul 02 2014 08:13 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
So it looks like they don't even want to pull me back in anymore. Well, I never...
|
Zvon Jul 02 2014 08:17 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Oh, this is that pitcher who cheats. I'd call balk every pitch.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 08:18 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
I guess the fact that he never lands again on the soul of his foot and therefore doesn't push off a second time is the reason it qualifies as legal.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 02 2014 08:20 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
deGrom was one pitch from getting out of it in the 1st.

Edgy MD Jul 02 2014 08:22 PM Re: IGT 07/02 - Mets at Braves |
Well, that's about the third rock-bottom this season.

I didn't see that play Gary was talkng about. When Tejeda was looking in the outfield during a hit ball? I'll have to take a look at that. Sounds like it was just one of those things but I still have to see what that looked like. Sheesh, it's like I'll go watch Tejeda staring into center during a pitch and torture myself. Torture, just an unintended consequence of watching Mets games.

No shame in getting shut down by Teheran, I guess, but we couldn't afford to anyway.
