...there's always someone to throw under the bus.
Colorado Rockies owner Dick Monfort criticized assistant general manager Bill Geivett on a radio show Wednesday.
Monfort, who made headlines last week for telling a fan Denver might not deserve a team and telling another not to come to games if he didn't like the team, singled out Geivett during an interview with KOA radio.
After defending general manager Dan O'Dowd, Monfort said Geivett is responsible for the Rockies' disappointing season. More from The Denver Post:
Monfort was asked, who is responsible for the Rockies’ 40-55 record this season, good for second-to-last place in the National League?
“You would have to say it’s Bill Geivett (Rockies assistant GM),” Monfort said. “He’s responsible for the major-league team."
Monfort also pointed to sub-par results from the team's scouting and development wing.
The Rockies are in 4th place in the NL West. Monfort and his brother, Charlie, have been the team's majority co-owners since 2005.
