Prestige

I don't know as how this is a particularly jazz-oriented crowd, but that's OK. I've spent most of my life coming up with projects for which there is absolutely no demand, and this is no exception. I am blogging my way through listening to every record put out by Prestige Records, one of the best independent jazz labels of the 50s and 60s, starting with it's inception in 1949. I've just finished '49 and am starting on 1950 (Stan Getz).

Keep it up! I like these kinds of things!

Streaming has allowed me in recent years to have attempted chronicling every significant rock/pop song from the years 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1983; and entire catalogs of Rolling Stones, the Who, The Bee Gees, Rod Stewart, Kiss and a few others as part of exclusive, chronological projects.

I attempted a beginning-to-end Frank Zappa project most recently but dropped out in the middle of the second album.

You should pick it up again. Zappa offers no end of possibilities.

Some other time, maybe. I didn't have the strength or stamina for him.

Re: Prestige

I consider this project to be prestigious and you should look into turning it into a book.
