What's The Oddest Giveaway You've Gotten At A Game?

Last night D-Dad and I went to the Trenton Thunder game. Before the game we were given visors, which were very nice. When we left the stadium after the game, though we were each handed 128 oz bottles of Oxi Clean laundry detergent -

It's not like there's anything wrong with detergent - it's a fine product, and we have a need for it (especially with two boys getting ready to go off to college). But it just seemed a little weird.

Who can top this? There must be some good ones that you guys have received along the way.

Re: What's The Oddest Giveaway You've Gotten At A Game?

I won a between-innings lottery that was pretty much a basket full of small-time sponsor stuff: Dishwashing detergent yes, but also other sample envelopes, and coupon for an oil change or car wash or thingies like that.

It was at a Binghamton Mets game. What made it weird was the lady next to me was like one of those Bingo etiquette cops. (Bingo the game, not the town, although that too.) When it came time for the first of three or so giveaways, she coldly told me that I was supposed to open my program to page 10 to see my lottery number, with an attitude that was at the same time charitable to the out-of-town guest and pityingly impatient with the obvious amateur that was the same person that was myself.

When we won the second raffle, she pointed out my number and how I asked her where I go to collect my #WINNINGS, which tried her patience almost all the way to the breaking point, and as I got up, I could tell from her 'tude that I was utterly unworthy of the bounty that fate had dropped into my lap. I knew we'd have no time to collect on car washes and oil changes, and it would be several days before we'd get home to use the dish soap and laundry detergent and such, so I started giving it all away to anybody on the concourse, reveling in my role of the world's cheapest Santa Claus. But my wife reminded me that we'd better save some prime choices for Esmerelda to choose from, or else our seats would be decidedly chillier by the time we got back. But I don't think our helpful/unhelpful seating neighbor was particularly interested in accepting charity any more graciously than she gave it.

A safety razor is a little odd, but at least you can drop that into a bag or pocket pretty easily. The Oxi Clean had the awkward schlep value going for it.

Would have been funny if the stadium staff made the mis-
take of handing it out on the way in and everyone had to
walk around with gallons of detergent.

It could make for a painful and slippery riot.

I picture rival fans swinging them at each other after they're given out at a Giants/Dodgers game or a Cubs/Cardinals game or a Cubs/Brewers game or a Cubs/Anybody game.

Leaving Fenway this year we were given a dinner roll individually wrapped in plastic. I opened it thinking it would have some filling/flavor, but nope. Just bread.

Wish I could remember the name. Maybe Willets knows?

I'm afraid I've never been given bread at Fenway. I hope it was good bread.

In the early 90's, went to a Norfolk Tides game where they were giving out single-wash packets of Tide powder, which we were pretty impressed by. Not as fun as gallons of liquid, though.

From a UniWatch poster ...
Leaving Fenway Park on Friday night I was handed two 4 pack bags of dinner rolls. Initially was going to just say “No thanks”, thinking “worst giveaway ever”, but then I noticed they were King’s Hawaiian rolls and gladly took them home.

CF, you were chinced if all you got was one roll!

Being a Fenway season ticket holder has to carry some perks, right?

Speaking of which... I remember getting packets of instant coffee a while back, before a Veterans Stadium Phils-Braves game, sometime around '96 or '97.
