Here we go, our periodic humiliation from the team I despise the most in the National League. How about beating them at least once during these for games? That would be a nice change. The front-running is rampant in DC as the locals are proudly wearing the clothing with the Walgreen's symbol (you don't get that in NY which has Duane Reede).

I have decided that within the year, I am starting a line of fragrances called "Bartolo Cologne", featuring our debonair starting pitcher.

Dumb investment. Ron's Darlings has a 74% market share in that sector.

The Nats pretty much clinched the division and ridded themselves of some demons by taking 2 of 3 this week from Atlanta.

Considering we may not score six runs this series (hell, we only scored 7 vs the Rox in 3 games) this one isn't looking too good.

So Bart hit Desmond in the 1st following the homer? I imagine that a warning was issued at that point?

Oh, I apologize as well. And commend EYoung on his baserunning. I'm impressed that he looked at Tueff. More and more I see players not doing basic stuff like that.

Well, those were our last chances. Bases full, a granny would tie it, 2 guys who can hit HR's can't pull off the comeback kaboom.

Let's hope that the Mets bring their testicles tomorrow since they don't seem to have them whenever they play the Nationals.

It's the 'Aaron Small Syndrome', where players who previously sucked or had no real career to speak of don the pinstripes and hit or pitch like Reggie Jackson or Whitey Ford. They inevitably regress to the mean, but they have a brief period of POOTA (Playing Out Of Their Ass), which is highly irritating and highly helpful to the Yankees. Lyle Overbay and Alfonso Soriano are two other recent examples of this phenomenon.

Glenallen Hill is the one I remember. Acquired by the Yanx in late July 2000 for two nobodies, GAH, at the age of 35, went on to hit .333 in 132 ABs (.262 prior to the trade) with 16 HRs (a rate of nearly 70 HRs for a full season). Dumped during spring training the following March, the remainder of Hill's career consisted of 9 hits w/1 HR
