Lucky, yes, but the feet-first slide does have its advantages every now and then. Maybe Los Mets can beat the Nationals cuz god knows The Mets can't.

Some non-alcoholic beer goes to Dilson Herrera for that catch!

I'm going to go out on an outstretched, twisting limb here and conject that the Irish Hammer doesn't quite make that one.

Gee has faced 17 hitters so far tonight and has retired 8 of them.

Yeah, that was gone. It'll be amended.

If this was Shea that ball would have hit the top of the wall. There is no magic at Citi Field.

I don't understand that. How could they "miss it"? Its a freakin video that shows his foot not there yet.

Desmond's been out at both bases he's stood on this inning.

Yeah, second was less close but he certainly looked out again.

I like what Ronnie was saying. I'll go further.

I'd like to get re-Familiarized with the two-inning save, myself.

Edgy MD Sep 12 2014 07:52 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Assuming that first inning works out, of course.

Eh, we've got Mejia in against the top of their order ... we don't need any insurance runs.
|
Edgy MD Sep 12 2014 08:09 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Contact would have been nice.
|
Edgy MD Sep 12 2014 08:10 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Is Josh Edgy up? Because I'm not thrilled about this game coming down to Mejia vs. LaRoche.
|
Zvon Sep 12 2014 08:11 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Jank better watch out or he's gonna balk.
|
Zvon Sep 12 2014 08:14 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
From the side/above view: did anyone see that little rocking motion Mejia makes from the set position? He only does it once before the pitch. Isn't that a balk?

Mets Guy in Michigan Sep 12 2014 08:15 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Mejia kind of scares me these days.

Mets Guy in Michigan Sep 12 2014 08:16 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
But that was a big K!
|
Zvon Sep 12 2014 08:21 PM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
If Mejia can't throw to a base and has difficulty throwing an intentional ball, I seriously dunno about him.

|
G-Fafif Sep 13 2014 10:22 AM Re: IGT 09/12 -- Gnats at Mets |
Herrera saved two runs with his two-out catch. Duda (though maybe it was just Ramos experiencing an oopsie) earned a run with his slide. That's a swing of three runs. Mets could've just as easily lost, 5-2.
