Re: Rookie Hazing

I thought that was Tinkerbell.

Granted, the tallest Tinkerbell ever....

Meanwhile, Jacob deGrom has amazing abs!

deGrom makes that look good.
As for the others, ... uh, deGrom makes that look good.

They haze minor league trainers? Learn something new every day.
Poor lady is keeping up appearances, but inside she has to be thinking "I don't need this shit."

Sooner or later, this is going to blow up in somebody's face. Or everybody's face.

Re: Rookie Hazing

I'm saying.

Someday, like using midgets and albinos as flunky mascots, or using slurs for nicknames, this is going to be seen as a weird and demeaning anachronism, and it's not like the novelty has any humor value left at this point.

It'd be a healthy thing if management took the senior players aside and quietly told them to let this die next season. If everybody is going to jump ship eventually, why not be the first? I'm sure they'll find another way to ride the rookies besides public emasculation.

Former pitcher/current writer Dirk Hayhurst not a fan of boys-will-be-boys nonsense.

No? I couldn't tell if he was for or against, if he enjoyed himself or felt permanently humiliated. or both.

I would be happy to be in the bigs and have a sense of humor about it.

But that is just me. David Wright, feel free to can it in the future.

Degrom looks like the Wil Ferrell character in Blades of Glory.

Let me be a major-league baseball player for a few weeks and I'll wear a Wonder Woman outfit in Macy's window.....
