Putting aside the half million buxx he lost between the cushions for a moment (although, feel free to talk about that), can somebody explain to me where that season came from? It's not just that he set a record for SO/BB ratio, it's that... well, look at his numbers over his career:

can imagine the LolMets tongue lashings? Though I'm sure they exist in corners of Yankee fandom.

I suspect the Twins will hand over the bonus money.

Sheesh, he earned that money and he should be gobbling it up. If he feels ambiguous about it, he can donate it. There's being big and being shortsighted. Be generous with your waiter, not with your extremely wealthy employer.

I looked up the all-time single season K/BB ratio rates. There are three Mets seasons in the top 100 -- the guy who used to hold the record until Phil Hughes's season (he's now ranked #2), and two others (ranked #49 and #88).

Yeah. Rick Reed's 1998 K/BB is the 88th best all-time. Matt Harvey's K/BB rate of last season is 49th best all-time.
