Rubinoo reports d'Arnaud has an elbow issue and the words Tommy John surgery do appear. We shall see.

Hey, is Pawlecki ready?

I hate stories like this.

Yes, those words do appear with the caveat that there's no indication that this is anything like that.
Bone chips & TJ surgery are two very different things.

Meanwhile, the list of folks being shut down for the season prior to its natural end keeps rising.
Wright
d'Arnaud
Lagares
Herrera
deGrom
Eveland
Black
and those are just the ones who were active when September began

Once you start playing the shutdown card, it's hard to stop doing it.

Re: Travis and his elbow.

Well, except for deGrom, every one of the others is a legit injury (of varying degrees).

The New York Mets announced Friday that d'Arnaud will miss this weekend's final series against the Houston Astros, and will undergo surgery Wednesday to remove bone chips from his right elbow. Tests taken this week showed no more serious damage to d'Arnaud's elbow, and the procedure shouldn't affect his offseason routine or his 2015 season.

Good news indeed.

Even comes with the built in excuse (joining Wright, Parnell, ) as having being an excuse for certain poor performances. Throwing in this case.

Add Josh Satin (fractured hand, presumably from towel-waving) and Kirk Nieuwenhuis (mysterious infection --- related to passing kidney stone?) to the list of Mets coming back from the campaign on their shields.

Re: Travis and his elbow.

That's why I wondered back in yesterday's IGT if we were going to have enough players to field a squad today.
Ordinarily in September/October games that's not a problem

Fractured hand? Really? HBP?

Re: Travis and his elbow.

Satin has hand fracture, unavailable
September, 28, 2014

NEW YORK -- Josh Satin's season will end watching from the dugout.

Satin hurt his right hand, near the wrist, when he was hit by a pitch at Cincinnati on Sept. 5. With the issue nagging, Satin recently decided to undergo an X-ray and MRI. That revealed a fracture.

Satin will not need surgery to reset the bone, but must be idle for six weeks.

He went 0-for-6 with four strikeouts the remainder of the month after getting plunked by the pitch from Daniel Corcino.
