Allen single season saves mark topped out with 22 in 1980, good for a current tie for 27th place in the Mets Single Season Save record books (with Benitez in 1999, McDowell in 1986 and Bobby Parnell in 2013)

It's interesting how water finds it's level in this regard --- because of the era, and how that's expressed in how a guy is used and how many wins the team is capable of getting, as much as because of a guy's skillz --- he gets the samish amount.
