I gave up on following Cerrone years ago.

Re: Stuff Bloggers've Blogged Links 2014-15

Just my 2 cents but one of the reasons it got so inane over at Metsblog is that for a time (maybe still) there was absolutely no distinction between the tiniest mundane detail and the biggest story of the year: Big story, small story, unsubstantiated rumor, well-researched longform link -- it was all the same to MetsBlog. And though Cerrone may be an "insider" today he certainly hired his share of know-nothings to provide content for him. Editorial direction, writing and community always came second to dominating the page views and links over there, it's not a big surprise he wound up with with an audience who doesn't know shit either.

Struck me as an online meltdown of sorts. I don't really
follow him, but he's also hard to not run into if you're
a Mets' fan.

Hm. Kinda douchey. "I know so much more than you do that it's not worth debating you." I dunno, for some people that might come off as being a little arrogant.

Cerrone lost any semblance of credibility when he joyfully jumped into bed with Sterling/SNY. Yeah, he probably knows more than we do, in the way hookers can see family pictures of their clients while they're riffling through their wallets.

Hrm.

Given how much Information That You Don't Know to which he's apparently been privy, it's kind of impressive how little useful analysis or insight Cerrone has produced. But, hey, branding!

I should have started with something more positive,
although there isn't a lot of Mets positives this October.

Didn't mean to rag on Matt.

well then, how about Ted Berg Kayaking in McCovey Cove?

AND snapping a nifty cellphone picture while doing it?

Kevin Burkhardt did it better. Not only did he get to kayak, he got to take heaps of abuse from Keith Hernandez.

I'm fond of how Matthew Callan wrapped up his 15th-anniversary retrospective on the 1999 Mets.

So Cerrone retired. It's not easy arguing for a living with anonymous posters and other idiots.

Congratulations Matt.

Can't be much of a living when so many give it away for free. (raising hand)

He didn't retire -- he just said he was staying out of the comments section at his site.

You would too!

But he said it on his non-Mets blog which is just silly. I didn't think he went into the comments of his site anyway.

Matt Kemp is a great fit, but I hate his contract. through 2020 at more than $20 per.

ESPN chooses 4PM ET on Tuesday, March 31st to completely re-design their website (that had frankly been due for a face lift for a while).

I only realized because I refreshed Rubin's blog shortly after 4.

I opened that link in a new tab in Chrome and I get the
old look still. I have no idea how those mega sites work;
my guess is there are regional and redundant servers (or
some other highly-technical buzzterm) and eventually we'll
all see the new look by tomorrow.
