Fourth/Fifth Outfielder claimed by Oakland. On track to become yet another of those "the A's have done it again!" stories by May 15.

Damn - I always found it amusing when he and Vic Black appeared in the same games -

I liked Brownie, but Terry must've hated him. Never played him when he was up. Really got little respect from the org as a whole, seeing as they couldn't even give him a dignified uni number.

Ink is barely dry on the notice that he was removed from the 40, when I come here to see that he's been claimed.

Losing Brown, one of their few righty hitting outfielders, and with Satin (another righty hitter) also let go from the 40 man roster, makes me think they are confident they will sign a Cuddyer-like player.

Seventh on the outfield depth chart, and falling. Somehow, they'll struggle on.

When he'd come off the bench and smack HRs (often it seemed on the first pitch although I bet the facts wouldn't bear that out) it looked so easy and effortless that you could imagine him doing it on a full-time basis if only given enough ABs - and in fact his rate while in Queens over two partial seasons was that of close to 30 HRs/season (9 in less than 200 ABs).
