Memories of Juan Centeno

The Brewers have claimed the first catcher to stop Billy Hamilton (the first pitcher to throw him out? Jacob deGrom, from ROY consideration, one hopes).

They never could agree on how to pronounce Centeno. Perhaps he will find clarity among the Ueckers.

He should change his name to something more memorable, like Omir Santos.

Another guy with positionally-inappropriate number (36).

Not as afraid that this one is gonna is gonna bite as the Brownie one is, but a left-handed-batting catcher is always a useful thing thing to have around. In theory, anyhow.

Would have been nice to put off the the waiver for a few weeks and try and package them. Perhaps for some mysterious figure named Sergio deCarlos or something. But I guess part of the strategy is to flood the waiver wire after the World Series and try to get your guys to be less appealing in the crowd.

There wasn't much to remember. If he was up it meant that someone better was injured.

Adios Juan.
