My younger brother was an A's fan and my mom told us there would be consequences for squabbling before this series started. The series ended with me in the backyard hiding in an empty refrigerator box near the end of game seven.

What a blast from the past! Loved it! Felt like I was in my living room with Dad! 1973 was by far my favorite Mets team. I will never ever forget that summer

WOWZERS! I was looking all over for this a while back. It must have gone up recently. First thing I want to see is Seaver's double. I hope more 73 playoff games pop up. Full game telecasts of the NY games are as rare as they come (post 1970). As I've mentioned before, I've been looking for them for years. They've been erased from history. But I thought this one was lost too, so there's hope. I watched this game in Whitestone at my cousins house in '73. Alls I remember is how Seaver looked after the Bench walk off. This does not have footage of the very end of the game. Bummer. But it has the audio for the end. Still, excellent find.

The opening filmed with Ralph, Lindsey and Bob on the field was funny, because they only had one microphone and kept having to hand it around. Ralph sitting on a stack of tires talking about Getty gas was priceless. And the ad for the luxurious 1974 Chrysler New Yorker that looked like it got about 6 miles to the gallon and came with its own zip code......

Why was Dixieland music so happening at the time? Did The Sting launch a Dixieland revival or was it just another part of the revival? Because "Meet the Dixie Mets" was THE version of "Meet the Mets" until like 1982.

The big thing was getting into the World Series, where the Winner's Share was $20,000 apiece and the Loser's Share was a generous $15,000. That was considered huge money!
