Acronym Coining Thread

When you argue, as Dickshot did in 2005, that your team does not need to pursue another All-Star, but rather more of the more readily avialabe average or better players to knock out of the lineup guys having homicidal years (Cairo, Mientkiewicz, Ishii), you're arguing for more AYBARs --- Average Yeomanlike or Better Assets to the Roster.

Forget that Manny Aybar himself wasn't much of an AYBAR or delight in it.

Some of these people may or may not be the more appropriately named ZEILEs --- Zero-Excitement Inter-League Excursionists

TORVO is always recruiting new members.

TORVO is excellent and wonderful.

I'm looking --- and sorry to be less than specific --- for acronyms like LOOGy and LAIM which describe a type of player.

Aging Retread who Gets Hacks.

Instead of letting the younger guys get a chance, let keep propping up Jose Offerman. ARGH

Too many ARGHs can lead to the unfotunates becoming PETAGiNEs.

Rapid, Exciting, Yet Exasperating Shortstop

Frequently Limping Outfielder, Yet Dangerous

Mediocrity Incarnate, Expelled Now To Kansas City, Isn't Exactly What I'd Call Zippy

LAIM looks like a typo to me.

Couldn't we get a Super Excellent Ace who Vetos Earned Runs?

It works best (at least in terms of the coinage sticking) when the acronym actually represents a true type rather than the player himself.

Crushing Lefty Uppercut Batter, Blunders Expected Regularly

For those lefty guys who are there to crush the occasional pitch a few miles, then strike out 3 times. (Think Burnitz)
