Mets rant at Craigslist

Not for the fainthearted.

To quote MS Knight:
"If there's an interesting point, bring it up. But citing other boards' discussions as authority isn't going to influence anyone around here. If you want to cite the idea and then do independent research to construct a theory about it, then go to town. But if I want to know what they're saying on a different board, then I'll just hang out there."

I demand to see the results of your independent research on this subject.

:)

I was drifting towards the end, a little long, but anyone who's been to a lot of games
and doesn't laugh a bunch of times doesn't share my sense of humor.

Do you remember when MOFo Poet Laureate Joelmon had his own message board called Mets Rant?

]Y'know, the old bastards who insist on wiping your seat for you for a dollar. The ones who block every attempt to sit in better seats "because if they find out, I'll be fired." Who cares? How much are you making anyway you fucking jerk? Go watch Matlock.

I like this one. Never had a problem moving up until about two years ago. Those crusty old men are a pain in the ass now.

That thing is pretty damn funny.

The hostility turned me off. I couldn't make it more than a third of the way through.

The hypocrisy is what turned me off.

He is obviously one of those "assholes at shea" that he so wants to avoid.

yeah, thats my problem with it, too.

he appears to me like a stock broker ex-jock weekend warrior, filled with a sense of unfulfilled entitlement, who likes to get drunk and be a dick, thinking his hostility makes him cool.

If you hate scalpers and you hate the cops trying to catch the scalpers, if you hate the wave and hate the people who don't do the wave, if you hate assholes and ARE an asshole... well, then its just about hate, and not about Shea or the Mets, ain't it?

His desperate need to be funny doesn't mask his underlying assholity. And he's not that funny.

Assholity. I like that; that's a good word.

I'm guessing that was his intent.

Well, I think the self-serving hypocrisy was supposed to be the huma. Like a profane You Know Me, Al, of a kind. OK, a lesser kind.

I laughed a bunch of times. Sure he could have cursed less and been
more descriptive by mentioning the three week old dandruff on the ushers
jackets or that a bunch of them are drunk on their tips by the third inning
but a lot of it is true.
