Avatar Size Discussion

This should probably go in the other forum, maybe I'll move it, but some of the avatars we have here are just too damn big. It's bad enough with this boards particular software that if your not signed in a url can make the page twice the width it should be but the pictures are something we can control. Most people thought the 60 pixel width at the old board was too small but ya know something we lived with it for years. I move that we make an attempt to get everyone to not post an avatar over 150 pixels wide. Most computers these days are set at a width of 1024 pixels or bigger so that shouldn't be too big for anyone unless you really have an old setup. Here's one as an example ... Let me have it, go easy on me.

OE: directed at Willet ... What school is it you said you went to again? Yours is 100 the example is 150. 100 is less than 150. (sorry, but you answered so quick I felt the need to be a smart ass)

I'd vote for 100, but I'd even be fine with 60. And I do agree that we should impose a limit. I don't like the giant avatars.

Hojo is 100 pixels thin, but 161 pixels tall. Perhaps he should suit up for the ABA (Avatar Basketball Association)

I think a limit on avatar size is a good idea. A size of 150 x 150 should be fine. I'm proud to say that I currently fall within Yancey's 60 pixel limit.

If you look at nymr's posts and my example, it's pretty clear that 150 is the best max because the space to the left is going to be there anyway because of the rank descriptions bbbyyy. I don't really care if people vote smaller, but the space is going to be there anyway and if it make people happier to have an avatar that you can actually see ... that's my vote ... 150 max.

150 width sounds kool. As far as length they could go a lil longer without causing a problem, I would think. Especially for the more longer winded of us,....right Bret? 150x200 Pedro Of course, whatever you decide will be fine. Besides the neat specials event avs, I havent noticed any that are really overboard.

You don't want 'em too tall either just cuz it leaves a ton of blank space during short posts. Keeping them under the 150 limit sounds about right to me and I'd even prefer 100 but wouldn't raise a stink over it.

Mine's 150. That's the maximum size at ezBoard if the forum isn't set to limit it to 60x60.
