Arch-Enemy:CheetahArch-Enemy:Solomon Grundy
Powers:Blessed by the gods of Olympus, Diana has the beauty of Aphrodite, the wisdom of Athena, the strength of Hercules, and the speed of Achilles. These things can come in handy in a fight. She also has the ability to deflect bullets with her bracelets, and skill with a lariat that not only subdues her enemies, but forces them to tell the truth. She also heals fast and has a magical sword.Powers:Good fighter. He's got that ring that gives him flight, serious invulnerabilty, longevity, "mystical" tracking, and especially, the ability to project solid objects made of light.
Weaknesses:Unlike most super-strong heroes, she's not invulnerable. Considering that plus the amount of skin she shows, it's a good thing she heals fast.Weaknesses:That invulnerablitity? It doesn't work against objects made of wood. Fwhat?! He also can't use his constructs against items made of wood. Plant matter of any sort can disrupt his powers, so wear a cotton shirt, OK?

Wonder Woman's creator? Um, interesting guy. (The Jill Lepore stuff Willets mentioned in another thread is a bit of an eye-opener.)

She still kicks all kinds of ass, though. (And her "New 52" book has been maybe my favorite non-Batman one.) So my vote...

[Dons cotton onesie, steps inside wooden house]

... goes to somebody who isn't weaker-than-airplane-coffee Alan Scott.

I'm probably gonna vote WW anyways but is the "Alan Scott" Green Lantern something special? Why the distinction?

Alan Scott GL was the original golden age version. When GL relaunched in the silver age, the ring was wielded by the iconic Hal Jordan. They also had different origins. Scott's GL was based on mystical power, while Jordan's GL was straight up alien tech, and so it has been ever since.

Know what wins the arms race with this particular GL? A Louisville Slugger.

Wood, man. Wood.

I only get wood for one of these two.

And I'd like to show her my magical sword.
Green Lantern can be killed with wood?
He's a f'n vampire!
I voted for Wonder Woman.

when you put the weaknesses of both GLs together, you get a superhero who can be taken out by a splinter from a #2 pencil...

Wonder Woman. I know little of Alan Scott, and Wonder Woman is a major DC character with an interesting history, and also a fabulous babe.

"The lantern will flash three times.
Once to bring life.
Once to bring death.
Once to bring power."

Alan Scott (who originally was going to be named Alan Ladd before the actor was known) was not much different from Hal Jordan; his weakness was wood, not yellow.

Still, Wonder Woman wins for a whole bunch of reasons.

You come with a hunk of yellow wood, you can kick both their asses.

No shutouts yet, as Diana Prince beats Alan Scott 19-1 in the matchup of supes without adequate peripheral vision.
