You think X-Men leaders, you think Xavier, you think Psyclops, you think Storm. Well, two erstwhile X-Men team leaders who also demand your respect match up in the Modern Mutants Bracket of the Marvel Conference. Both telekinetic telepaths, too

How He Came to Be:Nathan was conceived a mutant, born a mutant, and raised in the future, where his parents somehow could psychically travel to raise him to learn his mutant skills well. How She Came to Be:Discovered as a teenager that she had mutant precognitive abilities. In later teen years, she discovered herself to have psychic powers, including telepathy. She later went through some trans-dimensional doorway and after a lot of drama, came out the other side with a different body and ninja skills. She's had some other transformations that you'll see down in the "Powers" field.
Base of Operations:S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier Pericles, Mid-Pacific, among dozens of other spots in the present and future.Base of Operations:The Xavier Institute, Salem Center, Westchester County, NY: Former: Braddock Manor, UK; X-Men headquarters, Australian outback

Song I Think Of:"Soldier of Love"Song I Think Of:"What's on your mind."
Powers:Telepathy, Telekinesis, Technopathy, Enhanced physical attributes. Expert marksman and hand-to-hand combatant. Cyborg implants make him a fighting machine.Powers:First she was a precog with limited powers. Then she was a powerful telepath. That's cool. But that's all she was. For a time she had bionic eyes, but they weren't that much better than real eyes. But power creep definitiely held sway. She joined the X-Men, because both Professor X and Jean Grey were out of the fold and what's the X-Men without a telepath? But she had little or no fighting skills and held back in all fights. But then she developed leadership skills and even took over the team during one of Storm's deaths. Her psychic skills also developed into an ability to develop great psionic violence. Then, um, she went through a portal and came out the other side as a vicious oriental ninja assasin. She could get you with psychic knives and physical ones. She also developed some crazy-assed abilitity to "teleport through shadows" which I guess sounds both psychic- and ninja-related. Her precognitive skills eventually faded, because things were starting to get stupid.
Weaknesses:Carrying a deadly virus that he has to use his telekenisis to fight all… the… time. This can exhaust him.Weaknesses:She was blind for a bit in her original incarnation, but then got bionic eyes. She couldn't really fight, but then she really could. For a while she couldn't use her telepathy, lest she free some guy she had imprisoned on the astral plane, but then she got Phoenix's telekinetic powers. She's just falling up, this one. Anyways, she's flesh and blood and vulnerable physically if you can get past her ninja skillz, and she has trouble focusing her telepathy and telekinesis at the same time, and grows weary when taxed. Oh, boo-hoo.

Another abstention for me, I'm afraid. I've had no experience with either of these characters.

Your making these up now, aren't you? Ha. I voted for the one with the purple tit.

That halvesy image is meant to depict two different Psylockes, as Elizabeth Braddock has inhabited two different bodies during her run.

Hey, look at that guy below.

Yeah, thanks, Edgy. This is your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man here to remind you
abstainers that you're not voting for Pope. Click a button. It don't cost nothin'.

I've driven through Salem Center many times.
Nothing good can come from there.
Trust me on this one.

What were the odds that she'd get two bodies like that?
And 4 tits like that? Some babes have all the luck.

I like how it seems the writers don't know exactly what to do with her, yet she is still around, bouncing those four breasts from panel to panel.

Re: CPF WotS, Rd. 1: Cable vs. Psylocke

I like Cable better

She joined the X-Men, because both Professor X and Jean Grey were out of the fold and what's the X-Men without a telepath?

She also came after Rachel Summers, who was the first telepath-of-the-month after Jean's death. Rachel was Cyclops and Jean's daughter from yet another apocalyptic future and thus Cable's sort-of sister!

I had some friends from South Salem who were pretty nice, though.

Some of the art is funny on these. Drill three holes
in those balls and you could bowl with them.

Re: CPF WotS, Rd. 1: Cable vs. Psylocke

Alternate-future Cyclops kid-ness and his prominent place in X-history aside, Cable reminds me of nothing so much as Rob Liefeld, and Rob Liefeld is a terrible artist, representing a pretty terrible time for X-storytelling.

Psylocke-- at least, the Hand-shaped psychic-knife version-- is somewhat of the same bloated '90s moment, but is a little more interesting, powers-wise and story-usage wise. Not to mention... She's unseasonably hot (between her and Electra, I think I have a thigh-straps thing). YMMV (but, as per the voting, apparently not by much).

Betsy Braddock and whoever the other chick is beat the guy named after a corrupt public/private utility.
