Has he tweeted yet that it's a dream come true?

Re: Memories of Germs

After fully grasping that his name wasn't German Gonzalez, I liked that he showed fearlessness (a.k.a. didn't get lit up) when he was brought into his first game at Pittsburgh just prior to the 2013 All-Star break in a tough situation. Soaked up his share of innings in an overused bullpen and then faded from consciousness.

May his stay in pinstripes be as significant as Pedro Feliciano's.

I'm surprised we gave up on him, as opposed to say, that Tovar guy who can't hit his weight.

I liked his arm. Still think he can be good. Just that now, I'm actively rooting against it.

How much $$$ did we get back? I look forward to the Wilpon revival of No No Nanette.

Always liked his face. Rich and amicable... like friendly fudge.

Nice velocity. Tough to handle, like molten fudge.

I think I want some fudge.

Yankees find a way beat Curse of Feliciano, flipping Germen to Texas.

...and poor Germen is then immediately cut by the Rangers. 3 teams have given him the shove this offseason. Poor fella's gonna have abandonment issues.

There was this game we used to play back in college. Every time Gonzalez Germen got DFA'd, you had to drink a beer.

Why do I get the feeling he'll wind up back here?

Re: Memories of Germs

We got him straight up for cash from the MFY. We should almost pick him back up just because.

Re: Memories of Germs

Well, he'd still be caught in the same roster pinch that got him dealt off. I imagine if Texas can't flip him, he still wouldn't clear the waivers necessary to offer him a minor league deal.

Re: Memories of Germs

Texas ends up throwing money down the hole, as they had no DFA buyers like the Mets and Yanks did, and so were forced to try to squeeze Germen through waivers, which they failed to do.

Welcome to the Cubs, Gonzalez Germen. Expect to be DFA'd by Tuesday.

Oops. He may not be a Cub, either:
