Song I Think Of:"Underwater Life"Song I Think Of:"I'm an Animal"
Supernatural Powers:His body adapted the high-pressure environments of life underwater, Aquaman has superhuman strength, endurance, durability, reflexes, agility, dexterity, healing, and senses. He can, of course, swim at very high speeds. (Wikipedia is telling me 3,000 meters per second, so you know it's true.) Current don't bother him much, as he's been known to swim up Niagara Falls. He has telepathy that allows him to speak to sea creatures. They mostly have little to say, but he can summon them to his aid. His telepathic abilities also allow him to understand any human toungue. Apart from being pressure-resistent, he's resistent as well to extreme temperatures. His skin is tough enough to deflect most gunfire and he has limited sonar capability. He enventually aquired a magical right hand to replace one that was severed. This hand is made of water and allows him to dehydrate an enemy (wow), shoot jets of water, freeze or scald as needed, or call the The Lady of the Lake up for advice.Supernatural Powers:He can change into any animal, at least any animal he has seen, including those he's seen in pictures. These enclude extinct things like T-Rex. It's no matter the outrageous changes in mass, that you'd think would lead to some sort of energy burst, he can totally do this. He's got a dramatic ability to heal, that you might think a shapeshifter should have. He has all those animal's abilities. If he's a jellyfish, he can sting, if he's a bat, he can see at night.
Non-Super Abilities:He seems like a good dude, but I don't know that he has any superlative non-super abilities.Non-Super Abilities:He's got hand-to-hand combat proficiency, but I would think keeping that sharp is a waste of time. Just become a boa and strangle.
Weaknesses:Through much of his history, he grows fatigued if he spends prolongued periods on land. At some points in his history, it was suggested that he'd die if he didn't come into contact with water at least once per hour.Weaknesses:Changing into very large forms can tire him. And he cannot turn into a form that the space he's confined to won't allow. He also has to think of the right animal for the right situation. Not always as easy as all that in the heat of a conflict.

I know him more as "Changeling". The Doom Patrol is my favorite DC superteam (a little bit of Fantastic Four, a little bit of X-Men) and the Titans were always, to me anyway, far more interesting than the Justice League.

I know they gave Aquaman some edge later on, with his long hair and a blade replacing one of his hands (is he still like that, I wonder) but when I think of Aquaman I think of Mitt Romney trying to pretend to be the Sub-Mariner.

(Oh, and Justin Hartley played Green Arrow on Smallville, not Aquaman. But good job including Vincent Chase and Craig Ferguson!)

i liked Peter David's run on Aquaman (i like his runs on practically everything). And the "Brave & the Bold" cartoon version was hilarious. Beast boy? some comic relief for the Teen Titans cartoon, but otherwise "eh".

Re: CPF WotS, Rd. 1: Aquaman vs. Beast Boy

Aquaman, like many of your Golden Age allies, has had a serious case of power creep. That annoys me. After fifty years, all these guys founded to trade blows to the baddies can now create a tsunami by farting in the bath.

But still, he calls himself Aquaman instead of Waterman. I like that respect for Latin.

Hartley played him in a 2006 pilot for a CW series that never came to be.

I watched him for years on SuperFriends, read him in various iterations of the Justice League, and owned two of his figures growing up.

So why is it that whenever I see the guy these days, all I can think is, "Aquaman, go... talk to some fish?"

Aquaman has more aquapubes so he wins.

You may think that while Aquaman breathes under water and can talk with fish, so can Spongebob Squarepants.
But its not easy to do those things. Just try them.
