Actually, we're leaving it behind.

I heard Friday night's game in Newark was half Islanders fans and a great time.

If you're looking for a blue and orange team to compete for a championship..

Re: On The Ice 2015

Maybe not half, but there was a substantial number of Islanders fans at the Rock last night.

BTW, they picked up another win in Columbus tonight.

3-0 dismantling of the Rangers last night at MSG for the Islanders. Howie Rose might miss a lot of Mets games this April and May.

Howie referred to Murph and the Happy Recap during last night's game :)

It's kinda funny how the Icelander fans are jumping for joy. They haven't
won a post-season series in like 20 years and haven't been in The Finals since
Mary Lou Retton was popular.

It's the journey not the destination.

They're playing great hockey and it's fun to watch. Chances are still better that they DON'T win the cup this year, but they've easily got the best chance of any NY team of winning it all this year.

I'd become a Yankee fan before an Icelander fan!

I've been through some very lean times with this team. I'm going to enjoy the good ones when they come my way.

And I hope you wring every ounce of joy from that inevitable first-round exit. You guys are adorable!

Yours,

A fan of the team that hasn't won anything since Nancy Kerrigan was "popular"

Final Reg-season Rangers-Islanders game ever at the Nassau Mausoleum tonight.

Anyone who wants a fun nostalgia trip should check out this: [youtube:15x61ry3]S-kn8SjH6xs[/youtube:15x61ry3]

Nearly 8 minutes of virtually uninterrupted end-to-end action in a decisive Game 5 (early round) playoff overtime complete with nary an advertising sign on either the boards or the ice itself.

Re: On The Ice 2015

Islanders win [u:2uevrae1]15 seconds[/u:2uevrae1] into overtime to take a 2 games to 1 lead in the 1st round vs Capitals.
And yet that doesn't even set a club record for fastest OT goal as those old enough to remember the deciding Game 3 goal (yes, deciding game) vs the Rangers in 1975 scored just 11 seconds in by (the recently deceased) J.P. Parise.

Barry Melrose is a good hockey post-game analyst.
Or does he just seem good because nobody else around there knows anything about hockey?

And the season ends with the Stanley Cup going to the Chicago Blackhawks.
