In the Aliens & Androids Bracket of the Marvel Conference, this matchup gives us two androids, from the same family, and possibly even the same body, or at least built on the same chassis. Two red-faces, too.

How can you pick? I dunno, but you must!

Place of Birth:As an android (despite his moniker), he wasn't born at all, but was built in Brooklyn, NY, like so many good things.Place of Birth:Also an android, he was also built in Brooklyn, like so many bad things.
How He Came to Be:He was invented by Professor Phineas T. Horton. He wasn't supposed to burst into flame, but he did. The public feared him, but he won their confidence with his derring-do.How he Came to Be:He was invented by Ultron to infiltrate the Avengers, but like them, and turned on his maker.

Song I Think Of:"Burn"Song I Think Of:"Mr. Roboto"
Supernatural Powers:His main dealio is that he can generate, manipulate, and (naturally) resist fire. He can also fly when burning, and go "nova," with a huge release of hot concussive energy. He can manipulate fires in his vicinity that he did not generate, and he can survive long periods without oxygen.Supernatural Powers:Vision is a master of disguise, able to generate holographic images to disguise his face, and disguise his voice to sound like somebody in his databanks. He has supersensory powers with both his eyes and ears, making him good for detective work. He absorbs radiant engery and converst that into the big-guy set of supe skils: superhuman strength, durability, stamina, reflexes, and flight. He can adjust his mass to become dense and bulletproof or feathery and weightless. Oh yeah, he shoots energy beams. Back to that density thing... he can (and does!) actually achieve intangibility. Lastly, is he smart? He's got a computer brain, jackass! Late model, too!
Non-Super Abilities:His very being is supernatural, but he has the intelligence and hand-to hand fighting skills of an advanced human.Non-Super Abilities:He doesn't need any.
Stuff:He IS stuff.Stuff:Again, he's his own arsenal. But check out that solar jewel.
Weaknesses:He's all about the fire. Fight fire and you fight him. Starve him of oxygen, and he survives, but his flame goes out and he's just an android. Similarly, smothering him, covering him in sand, sloshing him with water… all put him at a disadvantage.Weaknesses:He stores energy in a solar jewel. If he taps into that too much… kaputski.

Re: CPF WotS, Rd. 1: The Human Torch (Jim Hammond) vs. The V

Android with accidental fire-power versus Kitty Pryde and Cyclops and Wonder Man in one, who is sosobad he bagged* a crazy-hot** super-powered human AND rebelled against his maker when his maker was F*CKING ULTRON?

Thanks for your service, Mr. Hammond. We wish you the best of luck in whatever you do next.

*Temporarily, anyway. Things fall apart, right?
**No, really.

plus, he even nails the Scarlet Witch! I used to wonder about his ... apparatus. But after years of therapy, i'm past it.

Seems to me that it takes a lot more courage to mate with a companion named "Mantis."

Re: CPF WotS, Rd. 1: The Human Torch (J. Hammond) vs. The Vi

A difficult choice. The original Human Torch was one of the great characters of the 40s, but I think that the Vision was a more imaginative hero. Extra points for the Vision being the first comic book character (not counting the Deacon and others in Pogo) with his own distinct speech lettering.

Chuck's getting his way in these latest match ups, and Vision wins this android war.
