That family hating Vic Sage has sunk to a new low, asking us to battle two heroes who shared the same womb! The same womb!

Twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, loyal to each other through thick and thin, face off in the Silver Age X-Mutants Bracket of the Marvel Conference.

Supernatural Powers:She's pretty powerful. Her meal starts off with a dose of hexing ability, the capacity to warp probablity over her enemies, so things go bad. You may have a machine gun with dozens of bullets. What's the likelihood that every bullet in your clip is dud? Well, once she casts her whammy, it's better than even money.

This power of hers eventually expanded under her control to limited but effective pyrokinesis and telekinesis. Eventually, we learn that she can warp not only probability, but reality, which she does, to awesome and freaky effect. When things don't go her way, she essentially finds the ability to re-write her own universe.
Supernatural Powers:He can run and think at superhuman speed, reaching Mach 10, while reisting the effects of friction, the need for oxygen, and perhaps the need for enough sustenance to fuel these bursts of engergy. He can run on water and up walls. It eventually seems that he's not actually running fast so much as warping time. He gets some other powers after absorbing terrigen crystals, but he loses them, so let's not get distracted by them.
Non-Super Abilities:She's an excellent combatant, having been trained by Captain America and Hawkeye, who, if you live in Marveland, are the ones you want to be trained by.Non-Super Abilities:Meh. Not really.
Stuff:Not a lot of superheroes or superheroines wear a wimple. She's an exception on this score.Stuff:Those crystals were pretty cool, I guess.
Weaknesses:Using her powers takes a lot out of her. When she's injured or sick, she's not particularly effective. She also has a history of mental instability and succumbing to her father's nefarious agenda.Weaknesses:He's an asshole. Everybody says so. He also is loyal to his sister to the point that he becomes a bigger asshole when trying to defend her cause. Lastly, he's prone to mind control and going psychotic.

See, that may be why nobody votes for the Question.

The entirety of Scarlet Witch's proud heroic history has more or less been overshadowed in recent years by her Avengers Disassembled rampage (going crazy-nuts on her team; getting Ant-Man, the Vision, and Hawkeye killed; and essentially ending the Avengers) and House of M atrocities (rewriting reality to make mutants the domineering majority over a cowering human minority, THEN depowering 99% of the world's mutants, resulting in some wholesale slaughter). After decades as an interesting, complicated hero, she's been turned into Fat-Man and Little-Boy in a red corset.

But, here's the thing... Quicksilver's STILL a bigger asshole. Wanda's at least got insanity as a mitigating factor; Pietro's just all-around terrible. He's imperious, short-tempered, prejudiced, volcanically jealous, cripplingly resentful, and selfish. He continually preys on his sister's weaker mental moments and manipulates her into morally-questionable behavior (at best), all under the auspices of protecting her; whenever she's done her worst, he's been the devil on her shoulder, whispering suggestions of terrible decisions AND justifying those terrible decisions after the fact (like pretty much ALL of that "House of M" business). In short, he's bitchy Flash, possessed of Namor-sized arrogance and entitlement without the power, throne, or history. He's the kind of guy who might steal your lunch in the Avengers lounge fridge, drop it disdainfully on the floor when he found it substandard, berate you for your terrible taste in foodstuffs, and get indignant when you protested. Yes, Wanda's dangerous, intermittently insane, and has questionable taste in men... but Quicksilver should have sucked on some mercury a long time ago.

Agreed. On the other hand, it seems unlikely that Witchy Wanda should be winning 6-0. It's like someone has... warped probability somehow.

My vote definitely goes to Wanda. As stated above, Pietro has always been a bit of (or a lot of) a prick. And not to mention, the Scarlet Witch, with that costume of hers, is one of Marvel's sexiest characters.

Oops, I read that wrong. It's not Meghan Day, it's Meghan Ory.

This is another picture of Meghan. No mention of The Avengers on her IMDB page.

Fan art, that is.

And I liked Days of Future Past Pietro too, mostly because he wasn't anything like Pietro.
