Forecasts for Fifteen: Josh Edgin
Edgy MD Feb 20 2015 03:41 AM |
Oh, at the start of the season, I wasn't good enough to be one of the two lefties to break camp in the Mets bullpen. What kind of insanity was that? I'll tell you what kind. You know how the Mets packed the bullpen with veteran retreads until the kids in the house were ready to take over? Valverde and Farnsworth, right?

This is a tough one because I have no idea how many times Terry will go to him this year.

An even half of our games, 65 IP, 60 K, 3.00 ERA, 1.12 WHIP.

That's a stronger ERA in 1999 then they'll it'll look like in 2015. Still, 10 wins!

Being a member of a 102-win team will help everyone in the wins department.

One-batter guys don't get 15 decisions.

Thing is, bud, he's no mere LOOGY. I mean, he'll mostly be treated like one, but, yeah, when on, he's pretty effective against everybody.

LOOK OUT, BELOW!

OY! I hope they don't even consider turning Matz into a reliever. Later

Below ain't even in camp. I don't know if they can technically add him to the camp roster at this point. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't, but there seems to be rules about that.

Its a concern about his surgically repaired arm and whether it could stand up to the irregular use a reliever gets rather then the structured program of a starter. I'd consider it only after checking with several medical specialists that it would be ok. Later

Logically, you can't consider something only after checking with "several medical specialists," when you never would check with them unless you were considering it. I would imagine every move the Mets make with regard to their pitchers, and particularly their post-operative ones, includes input from medical specialists.

I can't argue with that logic. Consideration before checking. Got it. Later
