Our FINAL first round matchup is a strange one. Here in the Aliens Bracket of the DC/Indy Conference, we get two characters who are variations on the same personality. Superman's cousin coming to earth through two different reality timelines. I don't know how it works, because my thinking is narrow and my brain weak. They are one, but they are two.

You must choose one.

Song I Think Of:"Another Girl, Another Planet"Song I Think Of:"That's Really Super, Supergirl"
Supernatural Powers:The woman is a Kryptonian. And that means what you think it means. The earth's yellow sun gives her the same package of powers Superman has, which I shoulnd't have to review, but includes (but is not limited to) Heat Vision, Super-Hearing, Enhanced Vision (x-ray, telescopic, microscopic, electromagnetic), Flight, Invulnerability, Superhuman Stamina, (needs, however, to eat, drink, and sleep), Superhuman Strength (can lift mountains), Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Agility, Superhuman Reflexes, and Super-Breath (can knock you over or freeze you up).Supernatural Powers:Pretty much the same deal.
Non-Super Abilities:Trained in boxing under Wildcat and karate under Mongo Krebs. She's got a genius-level intellect and is trained in business and software programming.Non-Super Abilities:Has worked as an actress, televison reporter, and student counselor.
Stuff:Mcguff.Stuff:Not really.
Weaknesses:Like any Kryptonian, she's weakened by exposure to the element kryptonite. Her physiology confers on her no special vulnerability to magical or psyionic attacks, so come at her with the hocus-pocus. Her power depletes when she is seperated from the environment of Earth's yellow sun, which is her power source. So try and lure her to another solar system before taking her on.Weaknesses:Also kryptonite, magic, and psionic vulnerability. While she has appeared at times to be more powerful than Superman, Kal will calmly explain that he has spent a lifetime trying to repress his abilities, while his younger cousin is… irrepressible. Dangerous

That says Power Girl knows programming, so we'd have lots to talk about. Think she wants to collaborate on an Android App?

In a strange way, Supergirl damaged Slater's career just enough for kids in your demographic to sustain the illusion that she was all yours.

Actually, my crush was born from repeated viewings of Ruthless People. The movie Supergirl creeped me out, although Slater was cute in that too.

Yeah, I just mean that her profile necessarily dimmed thanks to SuperG, keeping her from becoming an overexposed national thing. Your heart couldn't have taken that.

I'm a big Legend o' Billy Jean fan. Helen Slater, young Lisa Simpson, that intense crazy guy from Christine, Helen's non-brother/brother Christian Slater dressing in drag, over-stylized rebellious clothes and hairstyles, and a populist youth uprising fueled by lo-tech social media. LoBJ is one heck of an eighties artifact.

FAIR IS FAIR!

What are we, a bunch of kids who have to sit back and take it? Well, now we're doin' it our way. FAIR IS FAIR! (Love LoBJ irrationally.)

Simply put, Power Girl is like Supergirl liberated/self-empowered.

(Also-- blatant Fman pander alert-- makes excellent cosplay.)

You take Supergirl. Like '90s one-hit-wonders Snap, I got the Power.

Helen Slater will be in the cast of the new Supergirl series playing the adoptive mother of Supergirl.
