xPGT 3/26: Mets WiN!!!!!!!!!

Mets beat Nats 8-3.

Bad inning for Familia put them down 3-1 but back to back HRs by Reynolds (3-3, 2 RBI) and yes, Lagares, tied it up then we added 4 in the 8th. denDekker also hit a 2r HR.

We're really having a good spring.

Matt Bowman in a surprise start (Niese was scheduled but weather forecast held him back) 5 scoreless innings.

Legares is trying to show Terry that he never wants to bat lower in the order than Bartolo Colon.

They're playing for the lead in the Grapefruit Cup standings tomorrow.

And Matt Reynolds trying to show Terry (read: Sandy) that he's the better choice to make the squad over Tejada -- not that Ruben's having a bad ST, but MR is up to .378/.400/.595 (yeah, I know, ST + SSS)

I think this point has been made elsewhere on the Forum, but the fact that he's more or less a duplicative version of whom he'd be spelling (contact-heavy, walk-light, middling power, iffy glove and range) probably weighs against scrappy Matty's OD roster spot being a Reynolds wrap.

I think so too, but it's not like Ruben is the ideal backup either. Ideally Wilmer's backup would be a speedy, glove-first, slappy-hitting lefty, but I didn't see any of those on the shelves last time I was at the store.
So I suspect Ruben breaks camp as the #2 SS. Doesn't mean he'll be there all year though.
