Forecasts for Fifteen: Zack Thornton

There's more than one Zack/h on this roster, and I'm the one with an intact UCL. But the rest is a mystery. I'm the bounty for Ike Davis, so surely they liked something about me, but I showed none of the acuity with Las Vegas that I showed with the Buccos' AAA team in Indianapolis or wherever. Apart from that, I kinda look like a character actor. The Mets didn't add me to the roster, and for the second straight year I survived the Rule V draft, so there's not a lot of faith out there that I can stick in a major league bullpen. But here it is. It's March 17 and I'm still hangin' round. What's it gonna be? Zach in Fifteen? I mean, surely I'll out-pitch the other guy, right?

One of the guys we got for Ike Davis, I'm predicting he goes out and does OK at Vegas and become a kind of groundballish reliever up here for a bit when Vic Black goes down with an injury. Then goes and drinks all night. 22 g, 25 IP, 0-1, 2.87, 20 K, 8 BB, 0 HR

I like the zero-homers bit. I'm starting to have a loss of faith that Sandy got the bargain he wanted in this guy after the meh season in Las Vegas and him surviving two straight Rule 5's.
