Forecasts for Fifteen: Jon Velasquez

I got shipped out a couple of days ago, but I made it to the third week of March and none of you can say the same. But I'll be back. I'm from the Bronx, I've survived three seasons of indy ball, and I kinda look like a Latino John Franco. I'm a dalgurned survivor.

I struck out 49 and walked only 13 in 54 innings at Bingo last year, so you know I throw strikes. What kind of throwing do you see me doing in 2015?

Not a lot of Velasquez affection.

Three games. Three ERA. Sold to the Yankees for an undisclosed sum.

He and Satterwhite are two of a kind, man.

I think Satterwhite's got more snap and burn to his offerings de pitchery. Velasquez? Well, he's doing alright at AA while pushing 30. And both the K and walk numbers are unlike anything he's ever put up at any level, really.

He gets a week midseason, 3 games or so, inconsequential results. Reoptioned in June or July. Prove me wrong, Mr. Moxie.

I'm predicting he quits baseball and goes back to school to finish a degree in electrical engineering, flunks out, and comes back, only with the Phillies, who slot him into the rotation to replace Cole Hamels after Hamels is traded to the Yankees. Also auditions to play the lead in the sequel to "Say Anything" where he plays Lloyd Dobbler Jr., a high school senior crazy in love with a wide receiver on scholarship to Penn State.

It's a really eventful year.

Nothing to see here (or in 2015)
