Forecasts for Fifteen: David Wright

I notice I'm a popular pick for "Key Met." Well with my Tidewater homey and my healthy hammy (to say nothing of the shoulder), I like to think I'm your man.

Easier access to right-center field makes me happier too. I'm just all about the optimism for 2015. What do you think goes down?

I think Wright's back. He sez he's back and Wright cannot tell a lie. All-star.

.307, 187 hits, 22HR,43dbls, 101 RBI.
If he stays healthy.
I'm working up a way we can track David through the course of the season.

Re: Forecasts for Fifteen: David Wright

I want to find a reason to be at least measuredly optimistic, so I'll say this: he gets hurt in weird ways all the time, so healthy now means nothing once he trips over his untucked shirt while leaving a restaurant or gets Vince Colemaned under a gigantic thing of bubble wrap (ironically meant to PROTECT HIM).

But, yeah, I think he'll do quite well while he's out there. He looks so, so great right now.

142 G, 620 PA, 83 R, 20 HR, 89 RBI, .291/.365/.479, 51 XBH, 10 sliding-with-your-feet-first SB

I'll sign up for that. But ditto on the creepy feeling that he'll get hurt somehow, not on a freaky thing but in the act of being a third baseman.

I think he's more likely to hurt himself in the act of being David Wright. By which I mean he'll pull something going out there when something is barking and he should be taking a day, because he's got to be there for his team and such.

It's happened before, certainly.

Can't help to recall that backhanded twist and tag on Carlos Lee a couple seasons back. It turned out after a couple of months he had a broken back.
