Mets lead 2-0 in the eighth. Niese pitched six scoreless innings, yielding four hits and no walks, striking out three. Blevins debuted by fanning Brycecakes Harper. Mayberry is batting third and has gone 3-4 with a homer. d'Arnaud is 2-3. Tejada picked up a two-out RBI.

Yup. Last laugh to Gil as it's game over at Space Coast Stadium. Mets get the shutout from Niese (six innings), Blevins (1/3 of an inning with a strikeout), Thornton (2/3 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO), and Gilmartin (2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO).

The past several years have made it hard for me to raise my expectations too high, but the areas and players I had the biggest doubts about are performing very well in Florida. These fuckers are wooing me.
