On April 29, 2014, the Mets were 15-11, four games over .500 for the last time...until they reached 7-3 last night, April 16.

On July 13, 2012, the Mets came out of the All-Star break and lost to the Braves, Chipper Jones making Josh Edgin his final home run victim from our ranks. Their record dropped to 46-41, and it was the last time the Mets were ever five games over .500.

The last time the Mets were eight games above .500 was June 3, 2012, the culmination of No-Hitter Weekend at Citi Field. They were 31-23 then. They are 11-3 now.

Live in the moment. This is a pretty great moment. It's pretty terrific to symbolically reset the clock to No-Hitter Weekend, as so many things have gone wrong since then. Resetting the clock to before the 2006 playoffs would be aces.

Remember that night Johan Santana blanked the Reds and hit his only major league homer? That was July 6, 2010. It was the last time the Mets were 10 games over .500 -- until now, April 23, 2015.

On June 27, 2010, the New York Mets defeated Michael Cuddyer and the Minnesota Twins, 6-0, to raise their record to 43-32, reaching 11 games over .500 for the fourth and final time that season. In 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, the Mets would not hit such a high-water mark at all.

As of August 24, 2015, the New York Mets (68-56) are precisely 12 games over .500 for the first time since August 19, 2008 (69-57). It's the first "since 2008" of 2015.

With their remarkable 8-7 victory over the Washington Nationals on September 8, 2015, the New York Mets rose to precisely 16 games above .500 for the first time since September 28, 2008, the final game of that season (and the stadium in which it was played). For the 2008 Mets, there was no tomorrow.

By defeating the Atlanta Braves on September 11, 2015, the New York Mets (80-61) are precisely 19 games over .500 for the first time since September 19, 2008 (86-67). That was as high as the Mets rose above .500 in 2008.

By defeating the Atlanta Braves on September 12, 2015, the New York Mets (81-61) are precisely 20 games over .500 for the first time since September 14, 2007 (83-63), which was the night the Mets lost the first game of a three-game series to the Philadelphia Phillies at Shea Stadium to reduce their National League East lead to 5 1/2 games with 16 to play. With the Magic Number at 11, the division title was still in the bag.

The Mets' regular-season high-water mark for 2015 will rise no higher than 22 games above .500, most recently reached on September 27, when their record was 89-67. They will need to sweep the Nationals this weekend to match it.
