... on a HBP with 2-out/2-strikes in the 9th.
Gets the no-hitter on the following AB.

Last two games for Scherzer: 18 IP, 0 Runs, 1 Hit, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 26 K
Oddly those are only his 2nd & 3rd complete games of his career.

Is also the Nats 2nd no-hitter in the last 69 reg season games -- Jordan Zimmermann on the final day of the 2014 season.

btw, Jose tabata -- the PH who got on via HBP -- [u:2hpay7pl]Absolutely[/u:2hpay7pl] stuck his elbow in the way of the pitch.
Suxx to lose a perfect game that way but it would suck even more to start calling that now after not seeing that call for maybe decades.

Since Dick Dietz. And yes, I made this post because I really wanted to type Dick Dietz.

Happened in a Mets game three or four years back. A batter, possibly Duda, but I believe it was an opponent, got hit but didn't get first base based on him not trying to make a sporting attempt to elude the pitch.

And the game before that one? he shit the bed (relatively speaking) vs the Yanx: 6.1 IP, 4 ER, 8 Hits, 1 BB
