I liked it. It's a side of Obama you don't get to hear much. And Maron really sounded like he was shitting his pants the entire interview, but hung in there.

Obama spoke the truth.

I had no problem with what he said and we, as in collectively, don't do ourselves any favors by force-feeding these silly code phrases -- such as "The 'N' Word' -- simply because we're afraid that someone will be labeled as racist simply for using the word not as a prejorative but in the context of discussing the topic.

I'm unclear on who Maron is or what WTF is. Blogcast? Podcast?

But that guy's sneezy basement studio SCREAMS security risk.

That's why they covered the windows with black paper and stationed a sniper on Maron's neighbor's roof. The Secret Service also removed a knife and a hammer from the garage. Oh, and his cats had to be locked in the bedroom.

WTF is a podcast. Maron generally interviews comedians and he generally ends up getting them to talk about their lives in a way that makes you want to cry.

He definitely didn't look young enough to be former Mets catching prospect Cam Maron.

He's also got a show on IFC that is some fiction, but still based on his life and career (kinda like Louis CK's).

He did sound like he was shitting his pants! I think he would've preferred to not talk politics at all and just get to know him, but that wasn't really gonna happen.

Me either. It seems that by trying to retire that word from language and speaking about it without speaking it, gives it more power and a weird kind of reverence than it would have otherwise. Sounded like what Obama said was from his heart. I don't think that was a scripted bit.

So what's the controversy, exactly? That he didn't say it behind closed doors, like the other 42 presidents?
