Moynihan Station

First phase set to open in August 2016. Is it possible that it could happen before 2020? Will this be the architectural bookend for Grand Central that New York has long desired?

I'm always puzzled by the architect leaving an empty niche in a building and given 100 years, the city never opts to fill it. Shouldn't there be a statue of Fiorello LaGuardia or Jerry Koosman or Chesley Sullenberger or somebody in there?

I haven't seen any sketches of what the inside is supposed to look like, but here's a page full of proposals, most of them radical, but few of them incorporating the Farley Post Office.

Re: Moynihan Station

My experience with the city/MTA is that I won't believe this is finished until a month after it's open.
