Omar has been getting kudos for his moves in the offseason, but J.P. Ricciardi has been on a tear, too. The Blue Jays keep making moves, getting Bengie Molina for one year and $5 million. The backside, our old friend, Jason Phillips looks to be a backup again with this signing.

I'm looking forward to a nice logjam in the AL East.

I doubt Phillips is even the back up on this team, wasn't he a spring training invitee?,Gregg Zaun will be back up I would think.Moilina and his agent surely made a balls of this whole thing, I suppose he'll be motivated to have a great year, good for Toronto.

]The New York Mets spoke with Molina in November and offered an $18 million, three-year contract. New York then had the chance to acquire Paul Lo Duca from the Florida Marlins and withdrew the offer to Molina before negotiations really began.

Now, this quote doesn't really make it seem to be Molina's fault for not taking the deal, but it's amazed me how some of these guys (or their agents, I s'pose) have completely misjudged the market.

The Mets gave both Molina and Hernandez "take it or leave it" offers to which they reportedly did not respond, theres no collussion there and it is in fact a good bargaining strategy for the Mets. the mets were impatient and dealt for loduca when they shouldnt have, but i still like dealing with medicore free agents the way they did.

If he changes the spelling to DeLuis maybe he could get Omar to sign him.
