See, I'm of the belief that the 10 greatest Stones' songs would not include anything after 1972, but other folks who ragged on me for my picks kept mentioning late 70's stuff so I threw them a bone with "Miss You" (the slimy things one has to do to appeal to the voters and it still backfires). I'm glad this is the last challenge for the Rolling Stones because this whole band ladder challenge pisses me off and I'll be glad to wash my hands of it.

I thought the awesome power of "Miss You" was wasted against "Soul Kitchen"

When alla this began (offa my post saying that 10 Doors songs are better than 10 Queen songs) I was just making the point that the Doors were better than Queen. Which it has been conclusively proven, they were. I would, however, rate many bands ahead of the Doors. As a matter of fact, I own no Doors CDs though I do have several on vinyl. The Stones up until they jumped the shark after "Exile On Main Street" (where the hell are songs from that album on Willets' list?) have more good songs.

Great album, worthy to be called masterpiece, but no individual song really stands out for me. In fact looking at Exile's song list there are few songs I can actually match up with their titles in my mind, but I love listening to the whole album.

Doors put out 7 albums (not counting the 2 post-Morrison albums or greatest hits collections). Stones vs. 7 albums vs. Doors first 7 albums:

Break On Through was on there and you didn't vote for it. I considered People Are Strange and meant to use Roadhouse Blues. Earlier voting seemed to feel that the long "poetry" songs (like WHen the Music's Over or The Soft Parade) wouldn't do so well (bad reaction to "The End") so I left them off. You're the first person I've ever heard of who likes "Variety is the Spice of Life" or any post-Morrison song (though "Tightrope Ride" is pretty good).

I also like "I'm Horny, I'm Stoned." Other Voices was as good as any of the other Doors albums.

No, it isn't. It may be as good as "The Soft Parade" but that's as far as I'll go. I never heard the album they made after "Other Voices."
