Spoiler alert: MLB network reporting that deGrom is scheduled for the 6th AND 7th innings.

Nice job by the Cincinnati fans giving it to neck-tattoo-douche.

Obviously I understand the term "Banned from Baseball" to mean something different than it does.

I understand how Buddy felt. I feel like punching him now.

Re: IGT: All-Star Game 2015

By my count, out of the 8 players replaced on the rosters, 4 on each team, only Giancarlo Stanton, Miguel Cabrera, Alex Gordon, and Jose Bautista didn't make the trip.

Blame the nominating committee for the All Century Team in 1999 and him being able to appear at Fenway for the All Star Team, and then the fans that voted him as one of the 2nd basemen for that team, which pressured baseball to make him be a part of the unveiling during a World Series game at Atlanta that year.

I saw a publicity photo of the starters Greinke and Keuchel taken yesterday w/o uniforms.
It looked like a mis-matched pair of guys just a year or so out of high-school where the surfer/jock was temporarily forced to hang out with the headbanger who spent all his time in metal shop.

Daniel Ray Hererra, and I'd do that trade again today.

Right now, wouldn't it be nice to have Adrian Gonzalez as a pinch hitter?

You can see Daniel Ray Herrera bringing it for Camden in the Atlantic League this summer.

I love that somebody woke up in the morning one day and said, "You know, fuck it, I'm bringing independent minor league baseball to Camden."

Hell, how about bringing in Chapman instead of Frankie -- who, since Braun also made the team, didn't need to be a second Brewer. That could have been Familia.

How about leaving deGrom in for another inning of deGromination?

Re: IGT: All-Star Game 2015

I thought Braun was an injury replacement.

I just don't get it. Bochy should understand at this point that home field advantage means something. Why not manage to win? I don't mean throwing DeGrom 6 innings; but the mass substitutions are terrible.

Home field or not, no ASG manager has managed to win in 50 years.

Mets will have to win the World Series in six.

Agreed.

I like Edgys week off proposal but that's just gonna make the break even tougher on us.

I only saw deGroms inning on the mound & interview afterwards. I might try to watch the whole game tonight.

Those caps they wore were hideous.

Same here. I saw deGrom's inning pitched, and then stuck around until I realized deGrom wouldn't be returning for another inning. Those corporate money grab market surveyed caps baseball's corporate bean counters pushed out ruined my all-star experience. For me the MLB ASG was always about whatever Mets were on the team and the uniforms, the aesthetic spectacle, the pageantry of all those baseball colors, like I probably said in another thread or two. And those idiotic caps, to me, are a stain on the whole thing.

Goddamnit.

I'm watching the game now-going into the 5th. 1-1.

I had this on last night but my brothers and I did our annual ASG/BaseballCard/pack party thing. We were having so much fun yakkin & opening the packs that we weren't watching the game until we saw deGrom come on. And after his interview with Erin Andrews we went back to ignoring the game. I'm gonna have to scan my card haul cause I did great in the Mets department.

Game itself has been boring--knowing what's going to happen is a major factor. The pre-game with Rose & the Reds, meh, nice. But it won't change the hole he has dug for himself. Joe Morgan looked surprisingly frail.

The tribute to Aaron, Bench, Koufax, Mays & some guy with a pencil mustache was excellent. I enjoyed seeing that, so far, the highlight for me.
At least until the 6th. I wanna jump ahead but I'll sit thru this boring badly brimmed bullshit while I scan some cards.
