Those early Expos flannel unis, with their distinct stylized numeral font and the pencil thin striping at the end of the sleeves get better and better with age, like a fine bottle of (Bobby) Wine. Did you know that Ken Singleton was allergic to the Expos flannels? In 1972, Singleton's first year with the Expos, the team finally fitted him with double knits to combat his allergies. In 1973, the Expos outfitted the entire team with double knits, becoming one of, if not the last the last team in baseball to make the double-knit switch.

Thanks. For the portrait-only rows I have six cards per row on this com- puter, but it's a twenty-something inch screen. On my laptop I only see four per row.

I figured you were seeing six to a row if Sosa was on top of O'brien. Oh, the other Cards interloper, in addition to Shamsky, is Leon Brown, who, like Shamsky, was just a STL ST invitee.

Without looking, I would have gotten Leon like never. I miss the Expos, even if I went through 3/4 of my baseball life thinking the logo was a JB. Was that a thread here? Anyone?

It was a thread. And you can go and play with the wonderful forum search engine to find it. Growing up, nobody I knew thought the logo was an "M". I thought it was e-l-b. I figgered the e was for expos and the l b was for league (de) baseball, figgering that's how they said it in french.

Where did you get the Gorman DIY? Out of those on the 1981 Expos Postseason Roster, Gorman is the only one sans a card of him in an Expo uni. Not even in Expo team sets!

Let go by the Mets after he blew his arm out, Glass was drafted by the Expos in the '69 expansion draft, and eventually made his way back to the Tidewater Mets, all without ever making it to the Majors. This means that Glass played for neither the Mets nor the Expos -- an interloper extraordinaire. Thank you for playing.

I was surprised no one got Glass -- it was such an easy interloper quiz. I figgered hardly anyone reads these threads anymore, or pays close attention. On the topic of Expos baseball card interlopers, Edgy solved the first interloper quiz ever -- only I wasn't calling it an interloper quiz back then when I snuck in a Floyd Youmans card in an old Expos/Nats card thread as a prank.
