I saw a couple of people tweeting Montero's name in connection. I think it might be a smidge less than that, but fierce competition too..

What's a smudge less than Rafael, you think? Bowman? Whalen? Molina? Ynoa?

Those guys seem to qualify as a smidge less than Rafael if only because of his major league experience. I wouldn't give up very much more than that for Zobrist. IMO he doesn't address the need for a healthy every day left fielder with some power. His strength is in his versatility. Later

I have trouble offering any of them, but I trust Alderson and DePodesta more than myself to sort out which among them are fool's gold.

Matt Bowman goes out and pitches a two-hitter tonight against the Fresno Grizzlies.

Great timing for a trade while he's hot! I can't decide how much i like Zobrist. The super-utility thing ceryainly helps with our current predicament of not really agreeing which position we need the most help at and what to do with guys upon Wright's (hopeful) return. the bat seems like it would be a positive if not great. the biggest problem i have is that he is a free agent at year's end and i'm loathe to trade prospects for rental players. i guess someone outside our organizational top 10 would be fine, whoever that is at the moment. has Ynoa or Bowman had their Tommy John yet? if not, ship them out. all Mets pitchers seem to have one eventually.
