Fuck You Mets Doctors

The ones that killed the what would have been a perfect deal for this team. I don't see how you make that call unless it's a no-brainer. And if it's a no-brainer, how do the Houston doctors accept it?

Fuck these doctors. The the same ones* that said:

1. Wheeler MRI's were "clean as heck"
2. "Matz looks fine. He can make his second start."
3. Blevins will be out for 6 weeks (it has been 14).
4. Travis d'Arnaud: day-to-day after collision in Atlanta
5. Montero should be making rehab starts even as he complains of shoulder discomfort
6. Cuddyer's not likely to land on the DL. Let's keep running him out there.

FUCK YOU HOSPITAL FOR SPECIAL SURGERY.

*These may or may not have been the same doctors. Also keep in mind that the quotes contained in this post may not be actual quotes. I also have no proof whatsoever that they are affiliated with the HSS, except that HSS has a lot of commercials during games, so I'm guessing they have some role in this. But what do you expect from a post made by someone with no medical background criticizing a doctors' assessment of reports not available to the public. Still, the Mets' doctors have been wrong a lot this year. And for that, they are my scapegoat. FUCK YOU DOCTORS.

Re: Fuck You Mets Doctors

I have been harboring bad feelings about the medical people the Mets employ for quite some time now. I think it goes back a lot further than that.

I joked just recently to my brother that I think they are being paid by a competing team.

Are these the same doctors who put Ryan Church on the airplane with a fresh concussion?

Re: Fuck You Mets Doctors

All doctors everywhere are like this. I get that they're easy to scapegoat, but it's not like the Mets doctors have a worse track record than other teams, or other doctors.

Hell, other teams sometimes come to our doctors for their tommy johns.

It's hard to equate to what the Astros saw, as they wrapped him up in a bigger deal.

It's really not in doubt that Gomez has hip issues, maybe the Astros think the degeneration just wasn't that bad, or that it'll hold up for 3 or 15 months.

And their fees are so high that the Wilpons had to invest with Bernie Madoff to pay them.
At least, that's what Megdal would probably write.

That's really the problem with the we've-been-sunk-by-our-medical-staff/trainers angle. It's not like the rest of the industry has expressed distrust of the Mets' people. Quite the opposite. I had some guy assuring me that Ray Ramirez somehow, given 10 days, broke Steven Matz.

I wish it was that easy, as trainers and medical staff are a lot easier to move on from than a single guy with a skill set that declines after 30 who you're locked into for multiple years and $100 million.

It's a metaphor.
The lion in this case is us fans being led away from our sanctuary by promises of better things (food in the lion's case, outfielders who can actually hit in ours) only to be shot to pieces as soon as we dared to hope. The hunter/dentist is Sandy but the real villains here are the corrupt game wardens (representing Fred & Jeff of course) who were not just the hunter's accomplices but in fact set up the whole phony hunt in the first place and then cleverly made him the fall guy when things all went wrong. The travel guide is played by Jay Horowitz who was unable to prevent the story from getting out.
