Ditto. Barbecue and watching the Mets on a TV set up outdoors on Sunday. Matz and Brats.

My husband is off Monday.

My son and his wife left this morning for North Carolina beach (I forget which one) so he would not have to use too many of his vacation days (this apparently is his weekend off, plus Monday)

My daughter and her family are coming down to swim and cookout on Sunday.

I am trying to clean the house today after many weeks of neglect.

One of the best things I've ever done was to hang a hammock between two trees in my back yard.

If you want me from today through Monday that's where I'll be.

In fact that is where I am writing this post from.

Worked today. Now off until Tuesday morning. No definitive plans for the weekend yet

Going to the beach for 4 day weekend with 3 other couples, next week Friday. That way we miss the crowds and the cost is substantially less. Taking a boat and possibly some jet skis with us.

Worked today. Working tomorrow. And since the restaurant where I'm working rotates its entire menu/decor seasonally, I'm working Monday, when we learn our new dishes and make them for staff. THEN I'm off for, like 20 hours, then work again Tuesday. Yay, hospitality!

Back from a weekend in Bal'mer, attending the wedding of the daughter of my wife's cousin. (I guess she's my cousin, too).
Thanks for your suggestions, Edgy, but we didn't have to find a place to eat. We were fed quite well over the weekend.
Nice city, lots to do and see there. The O's are on the road this week, so it was a bit less crowded downtown than it might have been.

Going to send off summer in the most appropriate way I know, by taking the kids to the beach for a day in the sun (predicted forecast calls for a day around 91 degrees). Now, we live too many hours from an ocean but we'll settle for the next best thing for where we are, an hour's drive north to Southwich Beach State Park and swimming in Lake Ontario. Boats on the lake will produce enough of a wake that the kids will feel the "waves." We spend Labor Day 2014 doing the same.

Got a call today. They need me to go in tomorrow. I'll probably have the whole building to myself.

I've had one email I needed to answer today, Labor Day, from work and the irony is just amazing - this client is a law firm representing a LABOR UNION!!

Sort of a working weekend.

Each Labor Day, Michigan's governor leads a walk over the Mackinac Bridge, which connects the Upper and Lower Peninsula. The crowds can hit 40,000 if the weather is nice, and there are some people who do it year after year.

A bunch of staffers go on the walk with the boss and we have media interviews before and after.

Last year we went up early on Sunday and explored a waterfall in the UP before heading back to the bridge area for the Monday morning walk. This year we were heading to check out another cool place in the UP, but there were forecasts of storms sweeping through the area at the time of the walk, with the potential for lightning (which, on a tall metal bridge over water is a bad thing!) We had to cancel the plans for the expedition and head right to the hotel, where we huddled, worked with the weather experts and prepared a series of press releases.

In the end, the lightning came through much earlier than expected, and we just had some rain during the five-mile walk. Good stuff!

Spent the weekend in Miami. Touched down in time to see the Mets leading 8-5 in the 8th. Familia finished off the ninth just as I was claiming baggage.

Went to the Sunday game. Holy crap what an awful stadium. No one there knows the words to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".
