Does anyone remember the Mets getting no-hit by the Giants and some no-name triple-A hack named Heston on June 9? Me neither.

I do. But, I'm not as angry about it now as I was on June 10th.

And it wasn't just that they got no-hit. It was that they were a threat to be no-hit night after night. Many were calling a Kershaw no-hitter before a pitch was ever thrown. I remember how relieved I was when they finally got a hit. Even during the first win streak FK noticed how the Mets would go in order in innings 1-3 seemingly every game. We commented how good they could be if they actually started hitting earlier. Then they just stopped hitting altogether.

I think if someone were to throw a no-hitter against the Mets this month, the Mets would still end up winning.

June 10, Harvey threw a wheel in an 8-5 loss. It takes a village. Chris Heston, it turns out, isn't such a no-name but is one of the better rookie pitchers this year. Fortunately, we have it on good authority that "Logan Verrett Will Be the Next Chris Heston."
