So can we replace mid-series?

Cuz I'd be shocked if we haven't seen the last of Tejada until April.

And, if so, who would it be?
Has to be someone who can cover SS

Yes, TOR just replaced Cecil. The Mets don't have another SS on the "taxi squad" so Flores needs to stay clear of Utley.

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

My guess is Eric Campbell, and he (or Kelly Johnson) would only play shortstop in an emergency situation.

I believe they can replace Ruben during the series. He would be ineligible to play in the NLCS but could (in theory) play again in the World Series.

Fractured fibula is the report on Ruben.

Watching the replay it's hard to see how he broke his leg; he landed on his back.

Ruben's right leg was planted as Utley crashed into him.

The contact w/Utley, not with the ground.

I'm hoping Danny Muno can be an option.

I kinda like Hererra. Can he be recalled?

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

I don't know how much it matters, but Herrera was sent home, and Campbell is on standby in Port St. Lucie. I imagine he'll be the guy.

He'd be an "emergency shortstop", I'd think, and Wilmer will try to play every inning at shortstop.

Definitely not ideal, but that's where we are.

IIRC, Muno was removed from the 40 man roster during the season. I'm not sure if he has gone through waivers. That formality is necessary before he can be re-added to the roster.

What about Uribe? Was t he going to be re-evaluated after this series anyway?

Can I change my prediction for Series' MVP to Flores?!?

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

Matt Reynolds is the replacement. Would be 2nd modern-day player to make MLB debut in postseason.

Wow! Interesting!

What if he shows up and they find out he's already gained 120 pounds of off-season weight?

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

He's been taxi-squadding w/o fanfare in PSL. Maybe Sandy has a lefty specialist warming up down there as well.

He's certainly gone through waivers. Everybody goes through them when they are removed from the 40.

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

This is amazing. Should he enter a game, he'll be only the second player (after former-Met farmhand Mark Kiger) since 1885 (Bug Holliday of YOUR CINCINNATI REDSTOCKINGS) to debut in the post-season.

It's crazy to be offline for a few hours and come back and find the whole world has changed.

Re: So can we replace mid-series?

Reynolds...give him a full share!

"The shares meeting is always an interesting exercise in human dynamics, sort of a microcosm of democracy. Rickey (Henderson) was the most generous guy I ever played with, and whenever the discussion came around to what we should give one of the fringe people—whether it was a minor leaguer who came up for a few days or the parking lot attendant—Rickey would shout out, ‘Full share!’ We’d argue for a while and he’d say, 'Fuck that! You can change somebody’s life!’ I admired Rickey’s heart, but I usually came down somewhere in the middle.“
